Ein Bericht von Jens vom GoogleWatchBlog hat mich zutiefst traurig dar�ber gemacht, dass ich bei meinem letzten Besuch in einem Autohaus achtlos an einer Filiale der weiss-blauen Marke aus M�nchen vorbeigefahren bin.

Wovon ich rede? Von Google Maps f�r BMW Assist!

Es w�chst zusammen was zusammengeh�rt. Man sucht sich noch im B�ro �ber Google Maps eine Adresse heraus, sendet alle notwendigen Informationen an sein Auto, steigt ein und f�hrt los!
M�glich macht dies zum einen der Umstand, dass das "BMW Assist"-System mit der Au�enwelt kommuniziert und zum anderen ein Kooperationabkommen des M�nchner Herstellers mit Google.

Ich finde, eine wirkliche Killer-Applikation in Sachen Navigation. Schluss mit dem Gefummel an den kleinen R�dchen und Schaltern w�hrend der Fahrt. Ein Klick und alles ist da.

Meist ist es bei Google und anderen IT-Firmen aus den USA so, dass ein neues Tool oder Feature zun�chst einmal f�r die heimische Bev�lkerung gibt und sp�ter f�r den Rest der Welt. Um so erstaunlicher ist dieser neue Dienst zur Zeit lediglich in Google Maps Deutschland angeboten wird.
